Our list features top inns that offer camping, so you can pitch up next door after enjoying a few pints.

TUCKED away in charming Cornish village Gwinear, the family-friendly Royal Standard serves an excellent home-cooked pasty you can gobble up while listening to live music.

When you’ve sloshed back all the cider you can manage, retire to the campsite which has more than 70 pitches, including space for motorhomes.

PERFECT for couples, the Chequers Inn is in the Derbyshire village of Stanton By Dale and connected to the adults-only Irondale campsite.

Each pitch has its own grassy area, picnic table and electricity.

There is a fishing lake on site and the real beauty of the venue lies in the number of glorious walking trails you can find right on your doorstep.

The pub serves a great homemade steak pie, as well as hand-carved ham with locally-sourced duck eggs and chips.

The Limeburners, West Sussex

THE traditional Limeburners pub dates back to the 17th century and is idyllic in summer thanks to a tranquil garden shaded by willow trees.

Pitch your tent in the scenic, dog-friendly campsite next door, or push the boat out and book one of the pub’s camping pods which have a double bed and sofa bed, a small patio with a dining table and a fire pit.

If you’ve drunk the bar dry, then a 10-minute drive away is Nutbourne Vineyards which offers excellent tours and tastings.

IF strolling the Lincolnshire Wolds with the dog in tow then stopping for a pie and a pint in a secluded pub sounds like your cup of tea, you’ll love the Three Horseshoes in Louth.

If you’re visiting on a weekend, stay for the roast served with all the trimmings or pick up an ice cream from the sandy Sutton on Sea, which is a 30-minute drive.

If you don’t fancy slumming it in a tent in the pub’s campsite, upgrade to a dog-friendly lodge pod which comes with ensuites, a kitchenette and TV.
