Margot Robbie didn't know that her husband Tom Ackerley was in the Harry Potter movies, despite being a huge fan herself of the fantastical franchise.
The 33-year-old actor revealed the fun fact during an appearance on British TV in January 2020, before admitting that she'd have married the English film producer a lot sooner had she known about his Hogwarts history.
"When it comes to Harry Potter, I'm a massive, massive nerd," the Barbie star confessed on The Graham Norton Show, before being shown a photo of a 12-year-old Margot wearing spectacles and reading one of J.K. Rowling's books on her birthday. To prove just how much of a Harry Potter fan she was, she then Graham that she lied to the optician about her eyesight as a child so she could have glasses like the beloved wizard.
Margot goes on to reveal that her husband Tom, whom she married in 2016, also starred in the films - albeit, only briefly.
"I was like, 'Had you told me sooner we would've been married very quickly,'" the Oscar nominated-actress quipped, before offering more details on her hubby's Harry Potter credits. "He was an extra when he was a little kid - he was one of the Slytherin extras when Draco pushes some kids out of the way to see Buckbeak in the third book. He pushes my husband out of the way."
Jermain Defoe sparks marriage split fear after spending Christmas away from wifeMargot first met Tom back in 2013 while filming Suite Française, in which she played Celine Joseph and he worked as a third assistant director. The pair initially became best of friends, only for romance to bloom the following year. Margot and Tom tied the knot in 2016 in a small wedding in Australia's Byron Bay, which was reportedly attended by just 50 guests. The Wolf of Wall Street star, who also previously starred on Neighbours, is believed to have worn an Oscar de la Renta dress as she was walked up the aisle by her mother, Sarie Kessler. It's understood that Margot is estranged from her father Doug, who reportedly left the family when she was very young.
Speaking about her romance with Tom back in 2016 to Vogue, Margot admitted that she'd always had an aversion to longterm relationships. "Then this crept up on me," she explained. "We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, Oh, he would never love me back. Don't make it weird, Margot. Don't be stupid and tell him that you like him. And then it happened, and I was like, 'Of course we're together.' This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before."
