Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez stepped in to successfully save their close pal Matt Damon 's relationship, it's been claimed.
The Martian star was said to be on rocky ground with his wife of 18-years Luciana Barroso and the pair were reportedly "speeding toward a split." Luckily, Ben is said to have urged his pal to call in a therapist "before it was too late".
Matt and Luciana got married in 2005 and have one child, Isabella. Matt has been close friends with fellow actor, Ben, since they were young children and have starred in movies like Good Will Hunting, Field of Dreams and more recently, Air. Reportedly, Ben had recommended therapy after explaining that it was the "only thing" that keeps his relationship with J-Lo afloat. An insider claimed: "Ben is first to admit the only thing that keeps Jennifer and him together is therapy."
The source continued to tell National Enquirer that with Ben's help, Matt and Luciana "rediscovered their romance" and are now able to "communicate on a whole new level". Following the intervention, Matt and Luciana were spotted packing on the PDA during a sun-soaked holiday in Mykonos, Greece just before the release of his latest film, Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr.
Sources added that J-Lo had her own "selfish" reasons for encouraging Matt get marriage counselling. "She hoped Matt would shed the bro behaviour he shares with Ben and start paying more attention to his own wife," the insider admitted. "As for Matt, counselling is not only saving his marriage to Luciana. It's thawing the freeze that existed between him and Jennifer, so he and Ben can be best buds again."
Jennifer Lopez shares unseen wedding snaps after 'one of her best years'The comments come after body language expert Judi James exclusively shared that Ben Affleck is in "a joy-free zone" despite being married to Jennifer Lopez, "one of the world's most desirable women".
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Judi said: "Ben Affleck has an impressive back catalogue of glum body language. Despite being hugely successful and recently married to one of the world’s most desirable women he has, by turns, looked irritated, annoyed, bored and impatient during some of his most recent outings and here, on the way in to his office, his downcast eyes and the way his facial features all droop downward, all suggest he is a joy-free zone at this moment."
