CHELSEA fans have been left utterly confused by the club's £45MILLION valuation of defender Trevoh Chalobah.

The Blues agreed a £38m deal for Monaco and France centre-back Axel Disasi on Sunday.

And they already have the likes of Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Malang Sarr who can play in the heart of the back line.

It means Chalobah appears surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with the Evening Standard reporting he has been given a price tag of £45m.

That is far higher than many Chelsea fans believe he is worth.

And the Blues faithful are already preparing themselves for him to be sold for less.

Reacting on social media, one person said: "No one is paying £45m. £30m tops IMO."

Another added: "No club in Europe will pay £45m for Chalobah. £30-32m at max."

A third replied: "Realistically max we get is £30m but still good money back. Wish him the best of luck if he is to leave."

And a fourth simply responded: "We are shameless ????."

Inter Milan are one club said to be interested in Chalobah.

He has racked up 63 appearances for Chelsea since breaking through into the first team in 2018.

He has won the FA Cup, Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup, but missed out on their Champions League triumph as he was on loan at Lorient.
