SHANIA TWAIN is desperate to cross something else off her bucket list – performing in Glastonbury’s legends slot.
She has already sold 100million records, headlined the Super Bowl half-time show and boasts the best-selling studio album of all time by a female act.
But the country superstar, who released her sixth studio album Queen Of Me on Friday, wants to follow in the footsteps of Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Kylie Minogue by taking the Sunday afternoon gig at next year’s festival.
Shania, whose global hits include Man! I Feel Like A Woman and That Don’t Impress Me Much, said in an exclusive chat: “This would be a fabulous idea. I would love it. Of course, it would be an incredible highlight for me.”
Sadly, she won’t be able to do so this year as she will be performing across the States on her Queen Of Me tour, which arrives in the UK in September.

Shania said of preparations: “It is sort of like training as an athlete. I’ve already started working on my voice.
“I will have many weeks of rehearsals. It does take quite a bit of preparation.
“Part of that, which is kind of fun too, is making sure I get the right shoes for the shows. It’s practical and fashion at the same time.”
In the 30 years since the release of her self-titled debut, Shania’s fashion has become a key part of her image, with a host of memorable outfits.
But she has revealed she spent years hating her body, until a recent photoshoot when she stripped off.
The Canadian singer went topless for the artwork to Waking Up Dreaming, her first single off the new album, while another photo shows her covering up with a strategically placed cowboy hat.
Shania explained: “I spent most of my life uncomfortable in my own skin from the age of ten. So I figured at this point now, I’ve already wasted so many years of insecurity about my nakedness.
“So I did this naked photoshoot to launch me into facing this discomfort that I’ve always had about my own naked image and it helped a lot.
“We’re not perfect. And this is the irony with fashion, as I love fashion so much because it can enhance the things you like about yourself and modify the things you don’t like.
“When the playing is all over, you still want to feel great when you look in the mirror — and I didn’t.

Singer-turned-actress Cheryl has taken on the role of Jenny in the thriller, which tells the story of spooky goings-on at a house she is renovating with her husband.
The action takes place over the course of an evening and Cheryl’s character is seen nursing a drink for most of that time.

Matt charges princely sum for selfie with fans
PRINCE Philip actor Matt Smith is charging fans £230 for an autograph and selfie with him.
The Crown and former Doctor Who star is to appear at Liverpool’s two-day Comic Con in April, which has an adult standard day entrance fee of £21.45.
But if die-hard fans want to get up close for a quick pic with Matt, they will have to fork out £115 for the snap – along with an extra £115 for a signing.
One fan wrote on social media: “One hundred and fifteen pounds for a photo? You’d know about the cost of living, right?”
Another said: “Are you joking? £115? Was so excited, as my ten-year-old loves him as well.”
