Who is Roger's daughter Jess on My Mum, Your Dad?

Roger was nominated to be on My Mum, Your Dad by his daughter Jess.

She was 28-years-old at the time the show was filmed, and is a network rail planner.

Speaking about her decision to put her dad forward for My Mum, Your Dad, Jess told ITV: "It was a joint thing with my brother and sister and it was our way of basically telling him that we were happy for him to start dating, if that was something he wanted to do.

"It was a cop out on our part really, as it meant we didn’t need to sit down and actually say it.

"It was a sneaky way of saying, ‘Oh look at this, do you want to look into this?’ Never actually expected anything to come of it."

What happened to My Mum Your Dad star Roger 's wife?

Roger revealed on My Mum, Your Dad that his wife died from skin cancer - after finding a "small spot" behind her ear.

He explained that they had been in a relationship for 37 years before she died, and that she had already battled breast cancer.

Speaking to fellow contestant Caroline, he revealed: "[My wife] had breast cancer about three or four years ago and she got over that and we thought, 'Brilliant'.

"And then we were on holiday in Italy and I just looked behind her ear and it was irritating her. Just a little spot behind her ear.

"I said, 'You need to get that checked, Jo, when we get back'. And she did and she got seen to really quick.

"And it was melanoma. She didn't know at that time that the cancer had gone to her brain."

Recalling the moment his wife passed away, he continued: "She said, 'I'm very tired'. I said, 'Come on, I'll put you to bed or do you want to go on the settee?'

"She said, 'Put me on the settee'. And then I came in about half an hour later and obviously I should have just phoned for an ambulance straight away.

"She basically never woke up again."
