BORIS Johnson has accused Western leaders of “dragging their feet” over supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The ex-PM said the West was “overestimating” Vladimir Putin and warned against a peace deal with Russia.

He accused the United States of keeping its ballistic defence stockpiles “on ice” while Ukraine’s President Zelensky was crying out for them.

Mr Johnson wrote in The Spectator: “There is only one thing they want from us, and that is the weaponry to finish the job. I simply do not understand why we keep dragging our feet.

“Why are we always so slow? How can we look these men in the eye and explain the delay?”

Earlier this year, Boris made a surprise visit to Ukraine where he met President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Johnson told the Ukrainians the UK would back him "as long as it takes" to defeat Vladimir Putin in the Ukraine war.

He was spotted in the town of Bucha, where a mass grave filled with hundreds of victims of a Russian massacre was unearthed last year.

Mr Johnson was also seen in the Ukrainian city of Borodianka and other suburbs in Kyiv.

"I can tell you that the UK will be sticking by Ukraine for as long as it takes," he told the mayor of Bucha.

"You're going to win and you're going to get all the Russians out of your country, but we will be there for the long-term.

"And we will also want to be helping you to reconstruct."

He was later seen meeting President Zelensky and the pair warmly shook hands before holding face-to-face talks.
