Logan Paul has been told that Dillon Danis has "absolutely mauled" him verbally in the ugly build-up to their grudge fight in Manchester next month.
The Bellator MMA star has made the switch over to boxing and is a massive underdog going into the bout with YouTube star Paul despite his fighting background. But he has made the most of his media opportunities, drawing in billions of social media impressions and attracting a brand new audience to the pair's October 14 bout.
And teammate Peter Queally, who is one of Danis' closest friends and training partners, feels that it has been utter domination in the fight's build-up as they approach the final weeks before competition. The pair have already appeared in a press conference together that ended in chaos, as well as 'Face Off' video that was viewed 3.7million times in just two days on YouTube.
"It's great fun but it's kind of awful in a way what he's doing and people love it," Queally told Mirror Fighting in an exclusive chat ahead of his own cage return at Bellator 299 next week. "Part of it is because people hate Logan, that's part of it too. I think it's just because it's so refreshing and so fun when someone is kind of getting people emotionally invested in a fight like this and he is funny.
"He's really good on Twitter but he actually did really well at the press conference, he won that too which I wasn't as confident of him winning because that's a hard thing to do, be up on stage like that and be that quick-witted and see, get those little quick punches in, quick one-liners. He absolutely mauled him in that. He beat him down.
Ten YouTube boxing fights we must see in 2023 including KSI vs Jake Paul"I think that's what people liked as well because that's hard to do, you show a bit of charisma when you do that, it's endearing and people like it. They haven't put a foot wrong either of them with the promotion for this."
Danis's incessant social media posting has gone as far as to see Paul's fiancee slap him with a $150,000 lawsuit and Temporary Restraining Order in the lead-up to the bout. But he has turned opinion from pure hatred to taking the position of anti-hero with some of the online viewers in the build-up.

However, Danis will need to back up his intense trash talking with a big performance against the much bigger Paul, who bookies have hit with a hefty favourite tag. And Queally feels that he level of training will be the difference for the Jiu-Jitsu black belt if he is to get the upset victory.
"I'll be honest, with this Logan one it will depend on how much Dillon has trained. He tells me he's training and I do believe him and want to believe him, but that is what it will come down to, Logan is not great, not that good at boxing to be honest. I think Dillon is much better than him and Jake is much better than Logan.
"Logan is not great, I don't think he can box very well but he is big and strong and he's physically fit and this skillset can beat someone with a good boxing skillset any day of the week if the other guy hasn't trained so that's what it will come down to because Dillon, I think, is better than him."
