FIFA fans are unable to access the game's online features due to an apparent outage.
Hundreds of players have reported issues via social media.
Why has FIFA 23 gone down?
It turns out the issue isn't anything untoward.
EA revealed that it had planned maintenance downtime scheduled for August 24.
In a tweet, the company said the works would go on from 7am until midday UK time (BST).
"During this time, you may be disconnected or unable to access online services," the firm said.
"Match creation will be disabled 30 min prior to the maintenance."
It affects both FIFA 23 and FIFA 22.
When did FIFA 23 go down?
Reports surged at around 11am UK time on August 24.
The Down Detector site picked up on more than 500 reports from the UK alone.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, plays were confused about the issue.
"Servers on FIFA down again extend the season what a joke," one user vented.
"EA what is going on with fifa 23 are servers down again??" another said.
Others shared a screenshot of the error alert that appears.
It reads: ""The FUT Store is current unavailable. Please check back again soon."
