AN earthquake struck yesterday off the west coast of Scotland.
The epicentre of the 3.2 magnitude tremor was west of the Isle of Mull in Argyll at 5.43am and at a depth of 4km.
It follows a 1.7 magnitude tremor with an epicentre around the same area on January 10.
Seismologist Davie Galloway, of the British Geological Survey, said: “It is a significant earthquake for the UK.
“But because it was close to the Treshnish islands, which are thought to be uninhabited, and the time of the tremor it may not have been sensed by many.”
