CHELSEA fans are up in arms after club legend Claude Makelele left his role as technical mentor.

The former midfielder joined the club in August 2019, not long after his ex-team-mate Frank Lampard was appointed manager for the first time.

But he has now been let go after he mutually agreed to terminate his contract, reports journalist Gianluca DiMarzio.

Makelele made 217 appearances for Chelsea and won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, and the League Cup on two occasions.

He earned cult hero status during his spell at Stamford Bridge so many supporters are disappointed to see him leave.

A third wrote: "Jesus have mercy. We just need to delete Todd Boehly and that consortium. It’s a circus at the bridge."

Chelsea coach Bruno Saltor has also secretly left the club - four months into Mauricio Pochettino's tenure.

He joined the Blues as part of Graham Potter's coaching setup in September last year.

Potter was axed after seven months at the helm, but Saltor remained at the club.

He was Chelsea's caretaker boss for one match versus Liverpool, guiding them to a 0-0 draw before Lampard returned to the dugout.
