The Ryder Cup has returned, with Europe looking to bounce back from a 19-9 defeat at Whistling Straits two years ago.
That defeat, back in 2021, represented a record modern-era defeat for Europe and they will be keen to avoid a similar margin of defeat this time around. In-form Rory McIlroy and Masters champion Jon Rahm will lead the charge for team captain Luke Donald. But opposite number Zach Johnson has lined up a fearsome team for the US, including world No.1 Scottie Scheffler and six of the world’s top 10.
The event takes place at Rome’s recently redesigned Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, with the Italian capital providing a stunning backdrop for what will be three days of high-class golfing action.
Having won four out of six Ryder Cups from 2010 onwards, Europe have seen their grip on the iconic gold trophy slip in recent years with the USA wrestling back control since 2016. Can Europe reclaim the crown? Here is how you can follow the action:
