Chilling details of Tupac Shakur's murder probe & confession video revealed

THE arrest of a suspect in connection with the murder of Tupac Shakur comes just months after The U.S. Sun sent a “confession” video to Las Vegas police.

Duane "Keefe D" Davis was taken into custody on Friday morning raising hopes that cops can finally close the unsolved case after 27 years.

The gangster has been bragging about his role in the murder of the rap legend in a book and interviews since 2018.

He has spoken multiple times about how he was in the car when his nephew Orlando Anderson opened fire on Tupac on September 7, 1996, on the Las Vegas strip.

Back in May, The U.S. Sun approached Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and sent them a link to a new YouTube interview in which Keefe claimed that the fee for the assassination was $1million, which was paid by a famous hip-hop star to a gang member named Eric Von Zip.

Zip was supposed to pay the killer, but took it for himself, according to Keefe’s claims on the Vlad TV channel.

The U.S. Sun went to cops after being contacted by various sources who were frustrated that investigators appeared to be ignoring evidence from Keefe.

Metro police responded by saying: "The investigation into the murder of Tupac Shakur is still an open homicide investigation.

"Thank you for the information. We have no further comment on the status of this investigation."

A source told The U.S. Sun in May that Las Vegas Metro Police detectives had been contacted by several people who hoped for a re-examination of the case with Keefe’s new claims.

But at that point, nothing appeared to have moved forward and the self-confessed gangster had not been brought in for formal questioning.

The law enforcement source said at the time: “It is accepted behind closed doors how Tupac was murdered and by whom.”

Filmmaker Mike Dorsey, who investigated the case for almost a decade, also spoke out about how he was frustrated by the inaction by police.

In December 2020, Dorsey met with detectives to present all his research, including an eyewitness statement that Tupac was gunned down by Anderson, who is now dead.

Dorsey, who worked on Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G and Murder Rap, said: “Keefe is telling the whole world repeatedly, his crew did this.

"I cannot imagine, with this much evidence, that any other unsolved murder case in Las Vegas would go ignored.

“Keefe allegedly lives in the police’s backyard too, in the Vegas area, and it seems like he does feel untouchable.”

Keefe has written a book called Compton Street Legend and given multiple interviews detailing how he saw his nephew Anderson shoot and kill Tupac as he was driving in Las Vegas with Death Row Records boss Suge Knight.

In 2021, Keefe spoke about the murder in great detail on the YouTube channel The Art Of Dialogue.

Keefe, 60, was arrested at his home on Friday morning, two months after cops searched a property in Henderson, Nevada in connection with the Tupac investigation.

Last month, The U.S. Sun reported how Las Vegas cops were “optimistic” that they had built enough evidence against the Compton Crip gang leader.

Two sources confirmed that the district attorney’s office was due to present its findings to a grand jury, held behind closed doors, that would decide whether there was enough evidence to prosecute Keefe.

Grand juries are most often brought in for high-profile cases in a bid to help the DA determine the reaction of a jury to its evidence.

The DA did not respond to requests for comment when approached by The U.S. Sun.
