First launching in 2015, Prime Day was traditionally a once-a-year event.

However, since 2022, Amazon has delivered two events per year — one in the original July slot and one in October.

The double whammy gives bargain-hunters even more opportunity to take advantage of timely price cuts on goods throughout the year.

In the last Prime Day sale, which took place in October 2023, shoppers were treated to major price cuts on several bestselling items.

Top offers included plenty of Amazon devices, with an ‘outstanding’ deal on the 32-inch Fire TV that was slashed to £150.

We also saw the popular £380 Shark cordless vacuum cleaner get a massive £150 discount during the sale too.

The 48-hour event is a good time for price-conscious consumers to pick up savings on tech and home appliances, but there are considerable savings in other categories too.

Beauty, household goods and even fashion items get heavily discounted in the Prime Day offers, so it is worth checking in over the sale period to see if some of your everyday essentials are discounted.

To take advantage of all the incredible deals, you will need to become an Amazon Prime member.

If you've never been a member but want immediate access to the sale, there is a 30-day free trial available.

Speaking of free trials, you can also currently get Kindle Unlimited for 2 months completely free.

Do Prime Day deals change daily?

Prime Day discounts are a mix of different types of deals.

Some offers are live for the duration of the sale, often Amazon device deals fall into this category.

Then there are deals of the day which only stick around for a 24-hour window, or possibly less if stock sells out.

Lastly, there are very limited-time Lightning deals that have limited stock available and, once sold out, disappear.

More recently, Amazon has offered exclusive early Prime deals ahead of the official event to entice shoppers too.

How long do Amazon Prime Day deals last?

Prime Day deals last for a maximum of 48 hours.

But most discounts featured in the event will stick around for a much shorter period, with some selling out in just a few hours.

The more popular an item is, the quicker it is set to fly off the shelves.

If you do have your eye on a coveted product it is best to snap it up when you see it rather than wait.

Does Amazon have Prime Day deals on everything?

You can pretty much guarantee that whatever category you are shopping for during Prime Day will have some discounts available.

Major categories like technology, home and garden, beauty, fashion, toys and household goods always feature heavily in the Prime Day offers.

There are normally a variety of well-known brands included across product categories, as well as lesser-known options and Amazon's own brands.

Just because Prime Day isn't quite here, that doesn't mean you can't find some stunning deals if you shop around on Amazon.

Samsung was one of the first phone companies to promote foldable phones, and while the first few generations had issues, it's safe to say they've finally mastered the tech.

If you're looking for a phone that can essentially snap out into a mini tablet, the Z Fold5 is an ideal candidate.

At 7.6 inches, you'll never struggle to immerse yourself in your favourite show or struggle reading tiny text online.

For anyone who likes to play games on the go, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip provides super smooth and quick loading times.

You may be thinking this behemoth of a device is going to die fairly quickly, but Samsung promises up to 73 hours of listening time and up to 21 hours of watch time for every full charge.

Oral-B iO4 Electric Toothbrush, £99.99 (was £270)

Oral-B claims the iO4 removes 100% more plaque and up to 160% more in between teeth compared to a manual toothbrush.

The impressive tech doesn't stop there since, over time, the Oral-B app will track your habits, helping you brush at just the right pressure and hit those harder-to-reach spots.

Picking up the rather impressive toothbrush for less than £100 will likely leave your teeth and wallet thanking you.

You can use the device for up to 40 minutes per charge, so you won't be stopped starting for any reason.

Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer, £119.99 (was £179.99)

BUY FROM AMAZON

Tefal is one of the best-known companies for kitchen gadgets, and since air-frying is the new craze, it's no surprise they've created a high-end air fryer.

While you may be picking up one device, it's actually two air fryers in one.

This allows you to cook two things at once or focus on the smaller draw to save energy.

The biggest benefit of using an air fryer is creating healthier meals, as you no longer need to drench items in oil to get that crunchy crisp you're after for the Sunday roast.

Tefal's Digital Air Frier does more than just cook your chips as you can roast chicken and veg without drying it out.

Sears seafood and steaks, and if you're feeling a little fancy, you can even bake a cake.

It has 8 settings, so no more learning to cook through trial and error.

BUY FROM AMAZON

Summer may mean brighter days and better weather, but for those of us who struggle with allergies, it can be hell.

Let's be honest; nobody wants to have to take antihistamines while at home, so purchasing an air purifier could be a lifesaver.

The Hepa filters capture 99.5% of particles that are up to as thick as 0.003 microns, which is a lot smaller than human hair - say goodbye to dust bunnies, pollen, and your furry friends shed.

The particle sensor scans for pollutants and, based on what's in the air, picks the correct speed for you, so just set it and forget it.

Each filter also lasts up to a year, so there won't be huge additional costs to running it.
