The Brit's last fight came back in May when his KO win over Joe Fournier was later changed to a no contest after it became clear the stoppage was the result of an elbow.

Prior to that, he was set to take on Dillon Danis in January, before the MMA star pulled out as FaZe Temperrr stepped in.

And KSI revealed on That Peter Crouch Podcast that Danis still owes him money for withdrawing from the bout.

This led to ex-Tottenham, Liverpool and England striker Peter Crouch hilariously suggesting Bridge as a potential replacement opponent on a Misfits Boxing show in the future.

Crouch said: "You know, if you ever need someone to step in, I know someone in training all the time. So if you need someone last minute, Wayne Bridge."

Former Reading midfielder and podcast co-host Steve Sidwell then added: "Can anyone beat the Bridge? He’s an animal."

Before Crouch continued: "If you ever need anyone, Bridge will step in. He doesn’t know it yet but he will."

KSI, who has won five and drawn one of his six boxing bouts, responded: "If he is really about it then it would be great to have him on Misfits for sure."

Crouch finished by saying: "Wayne, the boys want you."

And Sidwell quipped: "We’re taking commission as well."

Bridge, 43, beat Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews in a charity boxing match five years ago.

And he still keeps himself in impressive condition, despite having retired from football nearly a decade ago.

Bridge hung up his boots in 2014 following a brief spell with Reading.

He won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during a six-year stint with Chelsea.

He also played for Southampton, Fulham, Manchester City, West Ham, Sunderland and Brighton.

Bridge also earned 36 England caps, making the squads for the 2002 World Cup, Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup.
