Conor McGregor has insisted he was impressed by Dillon Danis despite the MMA star being disqualified against Logan Paul.

Danis was making his boxing debut on Saturday night against YouTuber Paul at the Misfits Boxing Prime card in Manchester. The multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion barely threw punches for the whole fight and Paul was awarded the first five rounds before Danis attempted to take him down in the sixth, with security guards then storming the ring as the fight was prematurely ended.

McGregor praised Danis for his performance but admitted his teammate needed to let his hands go more before being disqualified. "What a spectacle, ya’s’r welcome. Are yous not entertained? I was impressed [by Danis], good shots. He needed to let them shots go, some of them ones he was throwing was alright," he said.

"He just needed to let them go a little bit more What did your man [Paul] do anyway? You didn't even wobble him, you didn't even hurt him. You done nothing lads, yup the crew! "I tell you what, it was better than what Nate Diaz done anyway yeah? That was a show, yup yup."

Danis landed just 16 punches in the entire fight whilst Paul landed over 100 before the fight was stopped. Paul made fun of himself by stating in his post-fight interview: "I won something, let's go! He is supposed to be good at jiu-jitsu, what happened bruh? Stuffed the takedown, he tried to guillotine. Sorry I missed that hammer-fist.

"Sorry it ended that way y'all. Dillon Danis truly is a coward, just a dirty human being. Thanks to everyone in Manchester for coming out tonight. Dealing with a guy like that is not easy, he is a true demon and coward." Paul called for a fight against McGregor next and gave an unconvincing answer when quizzed about a potential MMA rematch against Danis.

"He called himself a real fighter? What are talking about, real fighter? Conor McGregor did you see that, I put your b**** on a leash and took him for a walk. Who is the real fighter now. If Dillon pays me his whole purse like he agreed, I will agree to my thing and fight him in MMA as well."
