Chris Hemsworth has made headlines for playing Thor in various Marvel movies and being a Hollywood heartthrob thanks to the Australian actor's private chef.

After working with the actor for over a decade, Sergio Perera, opened up about what it's like to feed such a "big boy." He was first contacted by Chris' wife, Elsa Pataky to work with Chris and his trainer to develop the perfect meal plan.

Sergio said that he changes the 40-year-old actor's meals depending on what roles he has coming up. For certain roles, Chris may need to bulk up while for others he needs to lose weight.

"Obviously the guy is a big boy,” Sergio said to news.com.au, adding that Chris "requires a lot of protein for the body he has."

“When it comes to building muscle, he just keeps it very clean with a lot of barbecuing — like meats and vegetables — and keeping it Mediterranean, which involves a lot of olive oil," the chef continued.

Nothing Chris eats is "boxed or canned," and while his diet shifts sometimes, there's one surefire meal that works for Chris every time. "One thing I did religiously with him, was every single day he would have one very large, hearty salad that consisted of raw and cooked vegetables, fermented products, nuts, seeds, and a lot of good fats with a piece of steak or a big piece of fish," Sergio said.

The MasterChef Australia alum also recounted how he first started working with the actor. “He had just finished the first Thor movie, and he needed someone to help match his meal plan to his physical demands. And that’s how I came on board," he said. “I would sit with his trainer, who is one of his closest friends, and we would all work together on figuring out Chris’ goals."

Working with Chris has been enjoyable for Sergio, eventually moving to Chris' homeland of Australia. "I went there thinking I was only going to be there for a few months, but I ended up staying," the chef said. He's been living in Byron Bay since 2016.

Chris recently had a genetic test done for Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, his National Geographic documentary series. It revealed he has two copies of the APOE e4 gene, which research says is linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease. The star admits he was left stunned by the news.

"“You’re constantly thinking you’re going to live forever, especially as a young individual,” Chris said, “Then to be told that this might be the thing that might take you out was like, whoa—it kinda floored me.”
