For many, November marks a moment of Christmas tradition with the start of the festive adverts, and this year, Waitrose's 90-second advert is a celebration of the "Good Stuff".

Food and drink forms the highlight of Christmas for families and friends and Waitrose showcases this through a fun Christmas party where things go slightly awry, but no one notices because the food is just that good.

The soundtrack for the advert is the party anthem Just Can’t Get Enough from Depeche Mode.

The ad centres around several relatable Christmas moments.

This includes guests arriving too early, people getting locked in a bathroom, a power cut and even an unexpected cameo appearance from Graham Norton bringing the No.1 Golden Bûche de Noël to the party.

Each of these minor mishaps is quickly forgotten thanks to the Waitrose food on offer - because "when the food's good, everything’s good".

Nathan Ansell, Waitrose customer director, said: "When it comes to Christmas, delicious food and drink play a central role in creating special moments for all the celebrations.

"We know that Christmas isn’t always smooth sailing and there is bound to be a hiccup or two along the way.

"However, these inconveniences are always forgotten while you’re busy enjoying delicious food, surrounded by your loved ones and creating magical memories.

"And let’s face it, at Christmas, it really is time for the good stuff, as when the food’s good, everything else is good."

Graham Norton said: "What a treat it was to be invited to such a fun party and to feature in this joyful Christmas campaign with Waitrose.

"It was quite a night, and after sampling so many delicious products from the festive range, I've got my order in already for the big day – because it’s Christmas, and it's time for the good stuff.

"Now, is it too early to cut into another Golden Bûche de Noël?"

The advert will air for the first time on television on November 2 at 8.15pm during Emmerdale on ITV1.

Fans waiting for John Lewis's Christmas ad will have to remain patient for now.

Waitrose was slammed and forced to change parts of last year's Christmas advert last year following complaints from viewers.

The supermarket's Christmas ad received stark criticism from a skin cancer charity and patients.

The ad showed farmers across the year as they grew and harvested food for the Christmas dinner table, including a scene in which two farmers compare their tanned arms from working outside.

The supermarket apologised after Melanoma UK and viewers raised concerns that the scene glorified sun tans and failed to highlight the dangers of sun exposure.

The scene was then cut from the advert.

The advert arrived in the same week that a whole host of other retailers launched theirs.

Asda released a teaser of its festive advert featuring  Michael Bublé.

The teaser, which premiered this morning (November 1) on ITV at 9.40am during Good Morning Britain, put seasonal speculation to rest as Michael makes his merry debut.

M&S' first Christmas advert has also arrived and it features well-known TV and movie stars.

Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham is among the star-studded cast in the posh shop's clothes and home festive ad this year.

Homeless charity Shelter has also revealed its own heart-wrenching Christmas advert.
