Members of the Royal Family have to follow etiquette while on duty, but even Prince William has had slip-ups which has led to him being corrected by the late Queen in public.
During his appearances on the Buckingham Palace balcony, he became distracted which didn't go unnoticed by the monarch. And as his grandmother, she gave him a good old-fashioned telling off on two occasions, which happened decades apart.
The Duke of Cambridge was filmed by a royal fan as he stood beside Her Majesty and was caught not paying proper attention. In the first clip, which was uploaded to TikTok, the dad was seen kneeling down on the floor with his son George during a flypast at a trooping of the colour in 2016.
The Queen then tapped him on the shoulder and instructed him to stand up after she caught him turning around and giggling with Prince Harry, who was positioned right behind him, and talking to Kate who was next to him. On closer examination, the monarch seemed to say "Stand up William," as he looked rather sheepish. The moment happened during the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations as she was joined by her entire family as they watched the Red Arrows.
The royals have a series of rules they must follow and it was suggested at the time that Her Majesty might have felt that the Duke could have been viewed as disrespectful for crouching on the floor, reports Daily Star. In another clip from decades earlier, a young William is once again pulled back into line after he's caught by his grandmother, this time slouching over the balcony.
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekTikTok users were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: "Typical grandma, love it". A second said: "William still behaving like a petulant child all these years later", while a third added: "I don't think William has changed". A fourth quipped: "You better listen to the Queen, Prince".
