PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Gianluigi Donnarumma endured a very frosty reception during his return to San Siro.

PSG took on Donnarumma's former club AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and the home crowd wasn't very happy to see the goalkeeper again.

As the 24-year-old made his way to his goalposts the Rossoneri faithful showered him with fake bank notes.

The fake money showed a portrait of the Italy international with a caption that read, "Mercenary".

And the currency of those bank notes appears to be called "Dollarumma".

That is because the Milan fans have yet to forgive Donnarumma for leaving the club as a free agent two years ago.

The supporters still accuse the Italian of leaving his boyhood club for PSG's riches solely because of money.

The keeper came up through the Milan academy and made his Serie A debut at the age of 16.

Donnarumma went on to amass a staggering 251 appearances during his six-year stint at the club.

That quickly turned him into a club hero, while many expected him to reach legend status.

However, the shot-stopper and the Serie A giants failed to agree on a new contract in 2021.

Donnarumma also wanted to play in the Champions League and challenge for Europe's highest honour.

That led him to PSG where he joined on the same year that saw Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona for the Parisians.
