DIRECTOR Ridley Scott has shot down telly historian Dan Snow for criticising his £100million epic Napoleon.
The veteran director told him to “get a life” after he picked out historical inaccuracies in the blockbuster, starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Ridley’s comment in a magazine was in response to presenter Dan pointing out that Napoleon did not fight at the pyramids, nor witness Marie Antoinette’s execution.
Also, he said, the former French queen has long, frizzy hair in the execution scene — but her real hair was cropped.
While Sir Ridley, 85, gave the criticisms short shrift, his military adviser on the film, former paratrooper Paul Biddiss, insisted authenticity was everything.

He said: “Uniformity is very important with Ridley — right down to the guys, making sure their hats are straight.”
And Joaquin, 49, has said: “If you want to really understand Napoleon, then you should probably do your own studying and reading, because if you see this film, it’s this experience told through Ridley’s eyes.”
The near three-hour film will be released on November 22.
