MARTIN Roberts has teased a special surprise coming in November to celebrate a major Homes Under the Hammer milestone.

The BBC home improvement show is coming up to its 20th anniversary, and the show host hinted that the team are working hard on something to mark the occasion.

Martin posted the announcement alongside a photo of himself sitting in the stairwell of a house that is clearly being rennovated.

He wrote: "I don’t want to start too much of a rumour mill, but just to say we are finalising something very VERY exciting to celebrate the anniversary of an incredible 20 years of Homes under the Hammer in November. Watch this space!"

Fans flocked to the comments to speculate about what the surprise could be.

One person joked: "A house that's not painted grey?"

Another viewer made a more educated guess, writing: "Are you doing revisits to see how some of the houses look years down the line and if the same people own them?"

It seems this may have been close to the mark, as Martin took the time to respond saying: "Possibly."

A third fan cheekily asked: "Is it a house they said they would turn around in 3 months for 2k that actually took 20 years and a billion pounds?"

Someone else congratulated Martin on the milestone, saying: "I have watched this show for 20 years and I will again this morning. I’ve bought land and property at auction and soon to start developing full time.

"The show never gets boring and although a simple format, it works and should never be altered! New presenters do a good job too!"
