BOLSOVER BILL is fancied to rack up a hat-trick of wins over fences by landing the Turf Services Handicap Chase (1.30) at Ffos Las on Thursday.
A one-time winner from nine attempts over hurdles, the Warren Greatrex trainee drew a blank on his first five starts over the larger obstacles.
But Bolsover Bill hit the target in a five-runner handicap chase over two miles and three furlongs at Catterick Bridge in mid-November, beating Spot On Soph by two and a quarter lengths.
And my selection combined with Dylan Kitts to follow up over the same course and distance in a similar event for conditions riders eight days ago, running on strongly to beat Trac by nine lengths.
Both those successes came on soft ground, so the heavy playing surface here should hold no terrors, and the form of Greatrex’s Rhonehurst string is a definite plus.
From the same mark here – before a 10lb rise in the weights kicks in – Bolsover Bill should cope with the step back to two miles and go in again.
Half an hour later, BRULURE NOIRE is taken add two a return-to-action triumph over two miles at Ffos Las as he goes up to two miles and five for the Happy Birthday Lynn 3AS Handicap Chase (2.00).
