But foodies have now caught onto the trend of taking them home and transforming them into a spooky Halloween themed treat that delights kids and adults alike.

Iceland were the first to reveal the clever trick, which they said promised two portions out of the one pizza – and zero waste.

In a video posted to their social media account, the shop revealed that to create your own, all you need to do is pick up one of the Iceland own range pizzas and then reach for a cookie cutter.

Simply cut a series circles out of the centre of the pizzas, leaving two separate pizzas with a jagged edge.

Then, continue to cut semi-circles into the parts of the pizza that still have a rounded edge – leaving you with two pizzas shaped like bats.

But to make sure you get the most out of the dish, Iceland also showed how they used the excess dough to create even more Halloween themed food.

This included miniature circular pizzas with toppings arranged to look like spiders and creepy eyes.

After they shared the post on their Instagram account, Iceland were inundated with comments from their followers who praised the simple but effective idea.

One person said: “That’s clever – cheap way to keep the kids smiling.”

A second wrote: “Such a good idea!”

Meanwhile, a third typed: “Halloween party inspo.”

And a fourth said that they couldn’t wait to try it out, as they chimed in: “I’m going to do this and I don’t even have kids!”

Since, several other social media users have also praised the popular store for the idea – and just how cheap it is.

One person said: “Love it! Thank you Iceland for sharing this rather than charging customers twice as much for a bat-shaped pizza. Superstars.”

Another wrote: “Great for cost of living and still fun. Definitely a winner.”

Another social media user joined the conversation as they branded the foodie trick  “very good, simple and original.”

The video has also racked up countless likes across the board, with over 24k on TikTok,  4k on Instagram, and a further 2.2k on Facebook.
