Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was seen in floods of tears during the American national anthem ahead of the Super Bowl.

Country singer Chris Stapleton was the man to sing 'Star Spangled Banner' prior to the Philadelphia Eagles kick-off against the Kansas City Chiefs - which had many emotional in the crowd.

But none were quite as emotional as Sirianni, who is coaching in his first ever Super Bowl with the Eagles, in just his second season as a head coach.

The Eagles are in their second Super Bowl in the last five years, but the first with Siranni, who has coached an amazing season with the team - leading them to a 14-3 regular season.

It came after a poor first season in 2021, with many questioning whether Siranni had been the right man to take the team forward.

But the coach has silenced all doubters, leading the team to tonight's Super Bowl, along with quarterback Jalen Hurts who had also been criticised through his first few seasons.

Both men are deserved of being here after their amazing season, and could become legends in the city should they win tonight.

The Eagles are favourites to win the game after their terrific season, along with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffering a high ankle sprain.

Mahomes has played through the injury in recent wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals to make it to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles boast one of the best defences in the league, who will look to use their speed against the Chiefs high-flying offense.

On the opposite touchline to Siranni is Andy Reid, who coached the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years before being fired by the team and then joining the Chiefs - where he has now taken the team to three Super Bowls.
