DRIVERS are "falling in love" again after a major car maker said it is bringing back an iconic motor in a whole new form.
The Renault Twingo is making a comeback as an EV ideal for zipping around town.
The electric car boasts "best-in-class efficiency" and will have a starting price of just under £17,000.
Renault boss Luca de Meo called the Twingo EV - being developed under the firm's Ampere arm - "a game changer" and a "silver bullet for sustainable mobility".
He added: "This is a fit-for-purpose urban vehicle, state-of-the-art EV without compromise."

The new Twingo is set to travel an ultra-efficient 6.2 miles per kilowatt-hour, slashing emissions by 75 per cent.
It will be connected to the cloud through a "smartphone on wheels" - allowing the EV to learn from its driver.
Tech expert Benoit Marchant said: "Love it! The Renault Twingo is going electric - and no other EVs matter any more."
Motoring whizz Daniel Golson said: "The Renault Twingo getting revived as a retro-styled EV with strong specs and a low price is the best thing that has ever happened to me."
Eamon Ambrose said: "I'm kind of smitten with the new Renault Twingo EV."
Renault axed its latest petrol Twingo from the UK in 2019, after launching it in 2014.
The Twingo has gone through three models so far, with the EV set to be its fourth.
One famous fan of the Twingo is ex-Barcelona star Gerard Pique, who back in January turned up to work in the modest motor.
Pique's ex-wife Shakira accused him of "swapping a Ferrari for a Twingo" in a diss track.
But Pique appears to have had the last laugh by embracing the budget car.
