CALL The Midwife stars have shared details on their 'complex' upcoming Christmas special family dilemma.
Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Patrick Turner, has revealed that the children in his TV family growing up will make this year’s festive instalment even more “wonderful”.
The TV couple shares four children together, including eldest son Timothy, their three youngest, Edward, adopted daughter Angela and foster daughter May.
The Turner children on Call the Midwife have all grown up from babies, and Timothy is following in his father's footsteps by studying medicine.
One of the storylines in the Christmas special will focus on May, whose adoption has never been finalised by Dr Turner and Shelagh.

Laura Main, who plays Shelagh, disclosed in an interview with Express.co.uk and other media outlets during a recent launch of the upcoming season: “It's never been resolved.
“I think she's so part of the family that I think a lot of the audience think that we have adopted her already.
"We [the Turners] would in a heartbeat, but we haven't been able to
“So yeah, I guess there is, you know, they carry on with family life, and they make it as normal as possible for her."
Laura continued: "She's very much, they're her brothers and sisters. It is complex.”
Stephen added: “Yeah. Let’s just say, without giving anything away, that it's a reminder that things haven't been resolved.
Speaking on the children's growth throughout the show, the Dr Turner actor explained: “The kids can do close-ups now. They have words now, they can get sarcastic now they're wonderful.
Laura followed: “I love the scenes in the Turner house because it's nice to see that family…you're getting Christmas through the lens of a family, you know, and they do Christmas really well."
Stephen has also recently teased that Call the Midwife characters will be endangered in shocking weather conditions.
Viewers will watch as heavy snow falls over the festive season, which could leave some fan-favourites lives in balance.
