After Kai put pen to paper, Wayne wrote on Instagram: "Proud day. Kai signing for Man Utd. Keep up the hard work son."
Kai continues to this day to excel in football, scoring four goals for the Red Devils' Under-12 team as they took on rivals Liverpool.
In April 2023, he was branded the "future of Man Utd’ and is hoping to continue his progress and play for the first-team in the next ten years.
The young striker told The Mirror: "That’s where I see myself but I’ve got to make it happen with the hard work and everything behind the scenes."
On who his biggest inspiration is, he added: "I know it's a a bit boring but probably my dad as he’s helped me though some of the hard times and taught me a lot about the game.
"Even just being in the car listening to him as a manager talking to all the players."
In May 2024, Kai Rooney lead the Red Devils' Under-14s to victory in the Albert Phelan National Cup final against Millwall.
Kai opened the scoring with a spectacular half-volleyed chip that soared over the Millwall goalkeeper and into the net, marking his eighth goal in six cup matches for the Manchester giants' youth team.

The parents revealed the news that they were expecting in July 2016, in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Coleen announced: "Baby number 3 is on the way ...... January!! We are so happy and excited."
Wayne also wrote on his page: "Delighted that me and @ColeenRoo have our 3rd child on the way."
In May 2024 Kit had his first holy communion.
His mother said on social media: "Wish we were doing this all over again this weekend.
"Such a special day for Kit’s First Holy Communion.
"Thank you to everybody involved in making it such a fantastic celebration."

Coleen broke the news on Twitter to reveal the birth of her new son, she wrote: "So Happy to welcome our Baby Boy .... Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz.
She continued: "He is beautiful.”
Fans were intrigued to know why the couple decided to not name their fourth child beginning with the letter 'k' like the previous three.
One fan joked on Twitter at the time: “Can we focus on the real issue as to why she has spelt Cass with a C and not a K.
"You had one job Coleen”.
