SKY BROWN has become Britain's first world skateboarding champion - aged 14.

The Olympic bronze winner produced a dazzling final two runs in in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

The Japan-born hero scored 89.63 and then 90.83 from the last two of her three efforts - as the Tokyo 2020 podium positions were reversed.

Brown said: "Being on the podium with these guys again is so crazy.

"There's new girls ripping it and it's really inspiring. 

"I'm really stoked. It's just been really fun. I was trying to enjoy it as much as I could.

"Landing all three of my runs was an amazing feeling. 

"I didn't really know until the end because all the girls are crazy right now."

Olympic silver medallist Hiraki Kokona led until the final round with 86.66 - but fell on her final attempt.

And Tokyo champ Yosozumi Sakura struggled - but nicked bronze thanks to 85.15 with her third effort.

British skateboarding fans revelled in Brown's "absolutely amazing" victory, while also hailing Cornwall's Lola Tamblyn for coming sixth.

Brown's historic triumph was rated as "brilliant" and "incredible".

One fan noted her consistency by posting: "Three great runs from Sky. Congrats to Lola Tamblyn too on her 6th place finish."

Another wrote: "Wow congrats to her for the great performance."
