TURKEY is a crucial part of Thanksgiving, and Martha Stewart agrees — but not in the way you think she might.

In addition to the meal she serves up at her dinner table, Martha revealed in a new interview that she's gone above and beyond in terms of turkey.

The 82-year-old cooking icon has time and time again proved her prowess in terms of holiday food prep and decoration.

The expert's website has shared over 25,000 recipes with cooking novices and virtuosos alike but when it comes to Thanksgiving decorations, she revealed her obsession with a centerpiece.

In an interview with The Kitchn, Stewart revealed the fall tricks she swore by.

One of the tips she picked up was one she had learned from a friend who made sure all the guests at a party met one another before they got seated for a meal.

Also, naturally, she wants to serve good food.

"You don’t have to serve as much food as some people do (sometimes people overdo it). Just serve really good food."

In terms of table decor, Stewart tended to stick to fall classics and crowd-pleasers.

"We did a beautiful centerpiece down the entire table of our bread baskets interspersed with all kinds of autumnal squashes and pumpkins and leaves. It was just gorgeous," she said.

One feature that the chef refused to go without, however, was her collection of turkeys.

"I have quite a collection of turkeys. I have taxidermy turkeys and I have glass turkeys and I have pottery turkeys," she revealed.

Her obsession with turkeys began with her former neighborhood: "I used to live on Turkey Hill Road and my house was called Turkey Hill, and I started my big turkey collection then," she explained.

"And probably a lot of those will be put on my long table that seats 18 in my dining room, and then I have other tables in a smaller dining room and I have a porch now that we can eat in."

She explained that Thanksgiving simply wasn't Thanksgiving without her prized possessions and she had no plans of getting rid of her tradition any time soon.

"It will continue to come out on Thanksgiving time. And I have many," she joked.

"Watch my show on Roku — I have a gigantic mold, a great big old chocolate mold.

"We’ve made two big chocolate turkeys this year and I have them ready to go on the table — very large, beautiful chocolate turkeys. The glass and pottery turkeys, all that stuff, will be out."
