Taylor Swift celebrated her 34th birthday in style – but there was a Blank Space where boyfriend Travis Kelce should have been.
American footballer Kelce was notable for his absence as the pop superstar let her hair down with a few of her famous friends on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, Swift’s party-pooper boyfriend had to skip the celebrations due to mandatory football practice with his team the Kansas City Chiefs.
The chart-topper didn’t need her man to have a good time though as she marked her big day with pals including actress Blake Lively and supermodel Gigi Hadid. There was no missing Swifty and her bestie Lively when they arrived at fancy restaurants Freeman, before heading to The Box nightclub in New York.

Ready to paint the town red and no doubt Shake It Off on the dancefloor, the singer showed off her pins in a stunning black mini-dress. The £1849 Clio Peppiatt frock was decorated with a nightscape design, sprinkled with a large sequin moon, a sparkly starburst and cloud appliques. She completed the eye-catching look with a faux-fur coat, platform heels, a glitzy silver clutch bag, diamond jewellery and a statement red lipstick.
Taylor Swift's next studio album revealed after tenth release broke recordsMeanwhile, chum Lively, married to Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds, opted for a spaghetti-strapped leather number, worn with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots. Fashionista Hadid was also in attendance, wearing a shimmery tummy-flashing cut-out top and matching pants. Other VIP guests were actor Miles Teller, of Top Gun: Maverick fame, his wife Keleigh Sperry, and musician Este Haim.
Earlier in the day, a bouquet of two dozen pink peonies – perhaps from Kelce – were delivered to Swift’s penthouse pad in Manhattan. The couple, who went public with their relationship in September, were last snapped together at a post-football game party on Sunday, following the Chief’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.
In a recent interview with Time magazine, who named Swift their Person of the Year, she opened up about her romance with Kelce. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she said.
Taylor added: “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
