However, the Midlands outfit want him to move permanently, not on loan.
Premier League odds and betting tipsAnd the Daily Mail's Dominic King has reported a loan offer from Frank Lampard's Everton has been rejected.
The Toffees fell to a 4-1 home defeat by Brighton on Tuesday, which was met by a chorus of Goodison Park boos.
Lampard's lads are 16th in the Premier League, one point outside of the relegation zone having played a game more than the teams below them.
They are also among the lowest scorers in the division, with just 14 goals.
Having recalled rookie striker Ellis Simms, 21, from his loan at Sunderland, they are now looking at bringing in another forward who will have the firepower to keep them up.
