CHELSEA are reportedly set to axe three players in order to fund transfers in January.

Mauricio Pochettino has called for more signings following the club's poor start to the Premier League season.

Chelsea are currently slumped in 12th in the Premier League and have the worst points per game record this calendar year.

Despite the club splashing £1billion since the summer of 2022, Pochettino has called for more players in the next transfer window.

However, in order to fund the moves, the club will need to offload some players.

ESPN have claimed that Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen and Noni Madueke could all be sold.

Madueke, 21, only moved to Stamford Bridge in January but has failed to get consistent game time.

He has featured in 20 games for the club, scoring two goals.

Chalobah and Maatsen have both become firing players at the club this season.

Maatsen, 21, impressed last season on loan at Burnley as he helped them win promotion to the Premier League.

It was thought that he would rejoin the Clarets in the summer, but a move failed to materialise.

The full-back is thought to have options in January, as Borussia Dortmund and West Ham have both been linked with moves.

Chalobah, 24, has also been tipped with a move to Germany with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel keen.

The defender has not featured this season after picking up a thigh injury.

Crystal Palace have been tipped with an interest in Chalobah, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.

The Blues are also believed to be willing to part ways with Marc Cucurella and Armando Broja.

Cucurella arrived from Brighton last summer but has failed to replicate the form that saw him named the Seagull's player of the season in 2022.
