Prince Harry, in his bombshell memoir, Spare, revealed that Prince William 'tried to talk to him' about their mother, Princess Diana, and would get 'frustrated'.

The book by the Duke of Sussex, which was released on 10 January 2023, tells his life story in his words for the first time. And in it, he reveals that his bother attempted to talk about the passing of Diana, who died in August 1997.

However, the younger brother also admitted that he was not ‘capable’ of discussing the topic with his elder brother. In fact, he revealed that he would shrug off the conversation quickly.

Four years after Diana died, "I still hadn't mourned, still hadn't cried, except that one time at her grave, still hadn't processed the bare facts," Harry wrote. He added that when he and William were still at they'd sneak into a local pub for a few pints with friends before going back to back to their dad's house, Highgrove, and hang out in the basement they dubbed Club H.

During those nights at Club H, William would sometimes try to talk to Harry about their mother, but Harry revealed that he would change the subject.

"He'd get frustrated," Harry wrote.

"And I wouldn't acknowledge his frustration. More likely, I couldn't even recognize it. Being so obtuse, so emotionally unavailable, wasn't a choice I made. I simply wasn't capable. I wasn't close to ready." Princess Diana was just 36 when she passed away. She tragically died from extensive injuries sustained in a car accident in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris in 1997.

In his memoir, Harry, also revealed how he was woken up by his father and informed of the passing of his mother. "I remember waiting patiently for Pa to confirm that indeed Mummy was all right," Harry recalled in the book. "And I remember him not doing that."

And in an interview clip promoting the publication of his autobiography Spare in January, Prince Harry revealed he cried only once over the death of his mother, recounting how he and Prince William were unable to show any emotion as they met mourners in public.
