Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel are engaged.
The Boom Clap hitmaker announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday, showing off her dazzling diamond ring. The two met back in 2021 while working on the single Spinning, they confirmed their whirlwind romance in May last year.
"charli xcx and george daniel f***ing for life!!!," Charli penned to her 4.5million followers. She shared three snaps, two embracing her beau and another of her new ring. Placed in between two cups, the singer-songwriter showed the piece in its box.
Fans, friends and family flocked to the post's comments section, with 1975 rocker Matty Healy's mum amongst the first to reply. Matty himself wrote: "I cry." Popstar Dua Lip added: "aaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS!!! congratulations lovebirds!!!!!"
Speaking of George in May, Charli said: "Now that I’m in a relationship with another musician he's influenced me a lot with his process and how he and his band work." She told The Sun: "It's really different to how I work and that has definitely influenced me and my process. I used to be very, ‘Quick, quick, quick, album a month, let’s go.’

"But yeah, I’m just so in love right now and I think I’d be a really hot mum… so why not just put it all into a Caroline Polachek remix, you know?"
