Why did Dean Ambrose leave WWE?

Dean Ambrose, born Jonathan David Good, became widely known for his tenure with WWE, where he performed from 2011 to 2019.

Ambrose entered the professional wrestling scene in 2004, adopting the persona Jon Moxley and showcasing his skills across multiple independent promotions like Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA), Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw), Full Impact Pro (FIP), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA).

After joining WWE in 2011, he adopted the name Dean Ambrose and commenced his wrestling journey in the developmental realms of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and NXT.

In November 2012, he transitioned to the main roster, aligning with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as part of The Shield.

In May 2013, Ambrose clinched his inaugural championship in WWE, the WWE United States Championship, holding onto it for an impressive 351-day reign, marking the lengthiest tenure since the title transitioned under WWE's ownership.

After widespread success, The Shield split in June 2014.

Ambrose secured the WWE Championship once, the WWE Intercontinental Championship three times, and the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship twice, solidifying his position as the 27th Triple Crown Champion and the 16th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.

He also won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2016.

But Ambrose left WWE in 2019 and cited disagreements with WWE CEO and Chairman at the time Vince McMahon as the primary reason for his leaving.

He turned down a contract offer from WWE in January 2019.

Other reports indicate that he decided to leave WWE because he did not like the content that was being produced by the promotion.

His last match on WWE was on April 21, 2019, when The Shield took on the team of Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre.

Securing victory in the tag team match, they concluded their last Raw appearance, marking his official farewell from WWE.
