Alexandra Burke, the X Factor 2008 winner, is looking forward to her first Christmas as a mum-of-two. She admitted: "I'm usually a stickler for planning Christmas ahead of time, but I haven't done it this year I've been very busy,"

The singer and her partner, AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Darren Randolph, welcomed their second child in September. Alexandra shared the news with a sweet Instagram post, saying: "Feeling so blessed. We are now a family of four. Welcome to the world our little peanut."

Despite being a public figure, Alexandra has chosen to keep her children's genders, names and faces private. Speaking in a new interview, she said: "The best thing that's ever happened to my life is meeting Darren and having babies. I still feel like I'm in my little bubble I don't go out much, to be honest with you."

Alex Jones, a mum of two under two, admits that every day is a learning experience. "I'm still learning and will still learn until the day that I die," she shares. "There's no written book about how to be a parent you just go with the baby's flow and that's all that you can do. The one thing I always tell myself is every cry and every situation is temporary and things will change."

She adds to OK! magazine: "There's no written book about how to be a parent you just go with the baby's flow and that's all that you can do. The one thing I always tell myself is every cry and every situation is temporary and things will change." Alex also advises parents to stay calm when their baby cries. "As hard as it is for any parent to hear a baby cry, just know it will eventually stop. So, keep your calm and stay cool. It's the only way for them to communicate and that's what you have to remember and it's easy to forget that. You have to remind yourself they're only helpless little babies."

"When they talk, that's even worse," she jokes. "Because they can chat back!" For Alex, who had a Christmas No1 15 years ago with her cover of Leonard Cohen's classic song Hallelujah, family time is crucial. "There's so much going on in the world that, right now, you need to take in and soak in family moments," she says. "Be with your loved ones and tell them you love them and not let a day go by where you don't check in on people that you love. That's really important. Christmas for me, that's what it's about."

After taking a year off to enjoy time with her first child, Alexandra is now back in the studio recording her album. "I'm still recording my album I've just gone back into the studio," she shares with us. The star also reveals that she has some acting gigs lined up for next year and will be appearing in Sister Act [The Musical] from June. "I'm doing some acting bits next year and I'm in Sister Act [The Musical] from June. There's a lot going on and it's not going to stop. Fingers crossed!" she says enthusiastically.

Alexandra, who describes herself as "very spiritual", believes in the power of New Year's resolutions and positive thinking. "My biggest thing is putting out in the universe things that you want and always praying for it, but working hard to get to it," she advises. "I'm a firm believer in positivity and constantly putting out positive vibes and love for others and for me too. It's just important to stay positive."
