Auto experts at KGF Classic Cars said the 1986 model is "one of the lowest mileage and finest examples to be offered."

According to records, the special edition Laser was built as a run-out model of the Capri.

They said: "Be prepared to step back into a 1986 Ford showroom.

"Factory correct in every way, it remains perfectly preserved thanks to a most fastidious of owner for 30 years who proudly boasts even the air in the tyres and wiper blades are factory fitment before selling it in 2016.

Experts said the boot area is "pristine with an untouched jack" and a wheel brace which is still held in place by two rubber loop bands. They said: "The rear parcel shelf is pin straight."

The iconic car was registered new in August 1986 and has had just two prior owners.

The car boasts body-coloured door mirrors with driver remote-control, black painted bumpers with overriders, spoiler, tinted glass, and RS-style four-spoke alloy wheels.

KGF Classic Cars shared a video of the vintage car being loaded into a truck to deliver it to its excited buyer.

The classic car dealership later shared a photo of the new owner, Brian, standing next to his new wheels, saying he plans to use the car daily.

The photo caption read: "Here is Brian taking delivery of his astonishing Ford Capri 2.0 Laser with a miniscule 7,166 miles from new.

"Brian was delighted to have found this as new example which he plans to use as his daily. Thank you for your business and enjoy the car!"

The sale comes just after a Ford Capri racing car with an incredible history went up for sale for an eye-watering six-figure price.

Meanwhile, an extremely rare Ford Capri model which was lovingly restored with tartan interior went up for auction.
