DEONTAY WILDER has hinted that he could hang up his gloves after he lost to Joseph Parker on Saturday night.

The American heavyweight was on the receiving end of a shock defeat when Parker taught him a lesson in Saudi Arabia.

Wilder was nowhere near his usual standards and New Zealand fighter Parker took full advantage to come out on top as the unanimous victor.

And in the ring following the bout, Wilder seemed to suggest that he may RETIRE from boxing despite rumours of a £100m two-fight contract with Anthony Joshua being agreed.

He said: "We'll see what happens, we still have a little bit left, but I did a great job managing my money. I'm a happy fighter.

"I'll be back, and if not, then it's been a pleasure. I don't know [if I still have the same fire I used to], a lot has calmed me down.

"I've been wearing this smile all week long and I'm still going to wear it. Nothing can stop me on that."

The Bronze Bomber was reluctant to commit to continuing to fight and it has many fans thinking his potential fight with AJ could be off the cards.

Others have suggested a bout between the heavyweight duo wouldn't be worth having now with Wilder's loss killing the hype of the two coming head to head in the near future.

While Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn made it clear that he doesn't see the fight going ahead and thinks Wilder has ruined the plans for the pair to come to blows.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: "I said in the build-up I don't rate him [Deontay Wilder]. Wilder had no idea, no clue.

"He lost 120-108, lost every round, and he's there at the end putting his hand up saying he's won the fight. He's not right.

"That's the reality. It was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I've ever seen. It's ruined our plans [for the Anthony Joshua fight].

"We've got to go back into the changing room and let Joshua know Wilder has just lost to Parker. The future is not Deontay Wilder."

Joshua on the other hand was able to impress and show he is still out to fight the biggest names.
