In Mog’s Christmas, Mr and Mrs Thomas and their children Debbie and Nicky are preparing for Christmas, leaving Mog feeling ignored — before long, the family are wondering what to do as Mog finds herself in a sticky situation.

The beloved cat, Mog, first appeared in Kerr’s first book ‘Mog the Forgetful Cat’ in 1970.

The festive adaptation will be brought to life by the same team that made Channel 4’s The Tiger Who Came to Tea, also based on a book by Judith Kerr.

On our screens to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Judith Kerr’s birth, ‘Mog’s Christmas’ will be a hand-drawn animation.

Before her death, Judith wrote more than 30 books and sold millions of copies worldwide.

Mog was based on the Kerr family cat.

When Judith wrote her final Mog book in 2002, Goodbye, Mog, she said:  “Drawing all those stripes became very tedious. I wished sometimes I’d made her a plain-coloured cat.”

In 2015, Mog found herself on television for the first time, in a Sainsbury’s Christmas TV advert.

When is Mog’s Christmas on Channel 4 this Christmas?

Mog’s Christmas will air on Christmas Eve at 7.45 pm on Channel 4.

The show will last approximately half an hour, until 8:15 pm.

It will then be available to watch on catch-up.
