POLLY the parrot gets locked up when her owners are cooking meals - after being caught banger to rights nicking a sausage from the pan.
Elaine Johnson, 49, popped out of the kitchen briefly while cooking her daughter’s favourite meal of sausage, mash and beans.
When she got back she found the African Grey tucking into one of the bangers after swooping down and swiping it from the frying pan.
The mum of three had been cooking the meal ready for daughter Abigail Rowlends, 23, getting home at the end of a 13-hour shift as an NHS nurse.
But when she did land she had to make do with one less sausage on her plate.

Polly now gets locked in her cage when anyone is cooking which she hates - she squawks “b*llocks” when the door is locked.
Elaine, of York, North Yorkshire, also a nurse, said: “I was shocked to see she had stolen the sausage.
“I didn't even hear her go in the kitchen - she was silent.
"It was like Mission Impossible and I thought: 'The damn cheek of it’.
"I was trying to decide whether I should wrestle her to get the sausage off her, but you've got to be quick otherwise she flies off and you'll never see the sausage again.
“She's very high maintenance – but very funny.”
Abigail added: "My favourite tea is sausage and mash - and I'd had a particularly busy shift.
"My mum was getting these nice sausages and hot mash ready, but no - Polly decided to tuck in. It was very disappointing.
"Polly is the princess of the house, though, and I would expect nothing less of her.
“But I don't mind - she probably had a really hard day in the house herself getting pampered."
