TEA LOVERS were left heartbroken to discover a beloved detox tea has been scrapped from store shelves.

Twinings confirmed the decision to discontinue their Boost Superblend after fans questioned why it had vanished from shops.

A statement from a Twinings spokesperson read: "We’re sorry to let you know that our Boost Superblend has been discontinued and we have sold through all our remaining stock.

"You may like to try our Focus Superblend as an alternative as it also contains B6.

"We never take the decision to delist a product lightly, but when consumer demand is low, it is not viable for us to continue producing it."

This has left shoppers heartbroken, with one X user writing: "Oh no! I have the Focus tea so will have one of those, thanks. I have the whole range & have now ordered the Soulful Blends range too."

While another added: "I will have to keep an eye out for something similar or try and find a new favourite flavour!

"Thank you for letting me know. I can understand if demand is low why you’d stop producing it."

Twinings Superblends were packed full of Vitamin B6 - which can help boost your mood as the January blues it.

It can also help with inflammation, making it perfect for a New Year refresh.

This comes alongside an axing of other fan favourites like the Twinings Christmas tea.

The tea company had to apologise to a fan who was distraught after being unable to purchase his favourite Christmas item this year.

The fan tweeted: "Sad that we haven’t been able to buy any of this this year.

"Trying other brands but they’re not the same.

"What have you done with this?"

While another fan wrote: "Twinings seasons greetings Christmas tea is my favorite and I am desperate to find more."

The team at Twinings later replied: "We're afraid our Seasons Greetings Christmas Tea is no longer available as sadly, this was discontinued due to a lack of demand.

"We're really sorry & will pass your interest on to our Product Development team."

There have been huge changes in the tea industry over the last few years.

Especially as a result of the cost of living crisis - which caused the price of tea to soar by almost a third.

The price of a pack of Twinings Tea went up from £5.25 to £6 in Tesco, while in Morrisons the price jumped up from £5.30 to £5.99.

A 20-pack of Twinings Camomile teabags rocketed by 32% from £1.70 to £2.25 in Sainsbury's.
