But some have been sceptical that he is indeed 16 years old, even comparing him to a hilarious Inbetweeners sketch with a character called wolfy.

He played a 17-year-old mechanic who did work experience with 'Will' - but looked far older than his years.

Littler defeated Cross 6-2 on Tuesday night at the Ally Pally to set up a final against another Luke, Humphries.

Speaking after his scintillating victory, Littler said: “It’s been a crazy ride.

“I’m still standing. I’m in  one  of   the biggest finals in   the world. I was happy winning one game but I could go all the way!

“I have surprised myself. I have thrown big averages on the floor all year around.

“I’m pleased to bring it on the biggest stage of them all.

“It would be beyond unbelievable to win this. I only set my goal to win one game and then come back after Christmas.

“I have to stay composed and get over that line.”

Humphries, meanwhile, battered Scott Williams 6-0 to set up a mothwatering final.
