Liam Charles was born in Hackney, London, on August 28, 1997.
Before finding fame, he studied drama and theatre arts at Goldsmiths where he was nicknamed “Cake Boy” among his uni friends because of his love of baking.

On May 6, 2018, Liam was announced as the presenter of Bake Off: The Professionals for Channel 4.

Liam landed the role in 2019 - originally alongside Prue Lieth.
When he first got the gig, he told Channel 4 at the time: "Working with Prue and Harry was great and just seeing how the junior bakers came up with ideas.
"They were inspiring me! And I learned from Harry and Prue and the Bakers themselves."
In January 2022, it was announced that Liam would sit as a judge on The Platinum Pudding Competition - a nationwide baking competition launched throughout the UK by Buckingham Palace, Fortnum & Mason, and The Big Jubilee Lunch.
The aim was to find a brand-new pudding dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II as part of the official Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Aside from showing off his skills in the kitchen, Liam also shared his dancing skills with the nation.

He made it to the sixth episode before he was revealed to be the character "Candlestick".
Speaking about his time on the show, Liam told The Sun how the fan reaction left him "stunned".
He told us: "It was really fun at times but there were so many rehearsal days!
"I have to admit it was pretty amazing when people asked me about the Masked Dancer, I knew I had to keep it a secret and it was really tough.
"I’m also so surprised that a lot of people couldn’t believe I can dance?!"

He impressed judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith and made it through to the quarter-final.
Liam eventually took fifth place in the competition.
