Disgraced drug cheat Jarrell Miller has been arrested less than two weeks after his fight against Daniel Dubois.

Miller, 35, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Florida for alleged carjacking without a firearm or weapon and burglary with assault or battery. The heavyweight is accused of attacking a car dealership employee before disappearing in a pickup truck that was recently repossessed.

WSVN reported that, according to investigators, Miller enlisted the assistance of a woman to create a ruse to distract the employee. The woman reportedly told the employee that she had left her mobile phone inside the pickup truck that was repossessed by the dealership. The employee then took the keys of the repossessed truck to help her retrieve her phone.

Miller is then said to have put the employee in a chokehold before slamming him to the ground, taking his keys back and fleeing the scene. He is being now held on a $30,000 bond at the Broward Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale after having a court hearing on Wednesday afternoon.

Miller’s attorney argued the charges against him, instead pushing for a grand theft auto and misdemeanour battery charge. The judge disagreed with the attorney’s verdict by saying: “Taking into account the allegations in the probable cause affidavit, the level of force that was used, as well as the manner in which the offence took place, the court does find probable cause as to both counts."

The news comes just 12 days after Miller suffered the first defeat of his professional career when he was stopped by Daniel Dubois in Saudi Arabia. The fight was taking place on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's knockout win against Otto Wallin as Deontay Wilder also suffered a shocking loss to Joseph Parker at the event.

Miller weighed 100lb more than Dubois in the fight as he continued his comeback from a drugs ban having tested positive for banned substances before his ill-fated fight with Anthony Joshua in 2019. The heavyweight is expected to have made a career-high payday for his loss to Dubois, although the exact figures of his fight purse are unknown.
