The iconic '90s TV show is returning with a brand new batch of Gladiators. The show made its debut on ITV in 1992 and continued for eight seasons before it was axed. Gladiators was later revived by Sky in 2008 but was quickly cancelled. The new BBC reboot will begin on Saturday when we'll see the fresh line-up of Lycra-clad warriors take on brave members of the public.

Filming for the series took place last year in and around the spring school holidays at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield. And during one of the live shows, one audience member's water broke. Hosts Bradley Walsh and his son Barney revealed what happened during the surprising moment.

Barney said: "One lady in the audience, her waters broke during filming. She gave birth there," before adding: "So we had a Gladiators baby!"

The iconic 90s gameshow is set to return to our screens in just a few days, with it officially back next weekend on January 13. Bradley Walsh, 63, and his son Barney Walsh, 26, will host the show, which will feature 16 new Gladiators. Fans can look forward to seeing their favourite challenges like the Eliminator, Duel and Hang Tough in the series, which will consist of 11 episodes.

The full line-up of Gladiators, along with their costumes, has already been revealed. The Gladiators have been seen together against a pink and blue backdrop in a promotional photo, teasing that they are ready for a lot of gruelling challenges. The line-up includes the likes of Bionic, Legend, Electro, Fire, Diamond, Nitro, Giant, Steel, Apollo, Comet, Viper, Athena, Fury, Sabre, Dynamite and Phantom.

Talking about his role as presenter, Bradley previously revealed: "Wow! I can't believe that I've been asked to be part of this iconic show. I used to sit backstage, or in the audience, every week watching my wife be part of this juggernaut and now I get to co-host a new version of GLADIATORS!"

Whilst Barney enthused about the upcoming project: "Gladiators has been a massive part of our family and it's an honour to be asked to co-host this iconic show. I'm so excited for everyone to see the spectacle, elite athletes and fantastic family entertainment that is GLADIATORS."

Gladiators airs on January 13, at 5.50pm on BBC One*
