Robert De Niro has been opening up about the joys of fatherhood after becoming a dad again last year.
The Hollywood star has been enjoying life with his baby daughter Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro who he welcomed with his partner Tiffany Chen, 45, last year. The 10-month-old has been a welcome addition to an already hectic life for Robert, 80, who has confirmed he has no plans to retire just yet.
Robert has been dating Tiffany since 2021 and says their daughter has brought him great joy since her arrival. Talking about the infant he said: “She’s such an adorable baby, so sweet, when I look at her, everything else goes away. So it’s a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment.”

Baby Gia brings her father great 'joy'The child may have come as a bit of a surprise for Robert who also told PEOPLE that “as things come, you don’t expect them,” and gave his advice that “you got to be ready. I’m ready to take whatever life gives me.”

Robert is also dad to Drena, 56, and Raphael, 47 with his first wife Diahnne Abbott, twins Julian and Aaron, 28 with ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith and Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12 with ex-wife Grace Hightower. The Killers Of The Flower Moon star admitted that all of her older siblings "get a big kick out of her,” when it comes to Gia, adding that “the grandkids even. She’s their aunt - they’re about to be teenagers!”
Robert's son Raphael has three children, while Drena's son, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, tragically died aged just 19 last July. Robert admits that he loves when they can manage to have a family get together and that "the fact that they’d all be together,” is something the actor finds “is everything to me.”
He also confirmed that he plans to keep working for as long as he can admitting "I enjoy it," as he discussed his close personal friendships including with iconic director Martin Scorsese. Their work together on Killers of the Flower Moon has earned Robert his ninth Oscar nomination meaning he joins just 17 other actors in the history of the Academy Awards who have won themselves eight or more acting nominations, including Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Jack Nicholson, and Denzel Washington.
