A FLYING car has been unveiled in a world-first international debut at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.

The car has been designed by XPeng Aeroht, which refers to itself as the largest flying car manufacturer in Asia.

The Chinese company has called the car the "eVTOL flying supercar."

We exclusively spoke to the co-founder, vice president, and chief designer of Xpeng Aeroht, Wang Tan, about the need for flying cars in the future.

He told The U.S. Sun: "Humans are 3D animals but the transportation is 2D.

I was hypnotised and woke up singing in a language I can't speak, I'm so confusedI was hypnotised and woke up singing in a language I can't speak, I'm so confused

"Everybody wants to fly actually and to have another view, another angle, to see the gorgeous view."

He added that users will be able to beat traffic and fly out of congestion zones.

Tan said he's flown in another flying vehicle that he designed but hasn't been in the eVTOL flying supercar as it's still being worked on.

CES attendees witnessed a live demonstration of propellers shooting from the car.

A statement from the company said: "With its elegant fusion of design and technology, this vehicle offers the look, feel, and driving experience of a supercar, but can transition effortlessly from land to flight mode, allowing drivers to take to the air."

In land mode, the car looks like a regular flashy vehicle.

With a few flicked switches, the car is designed to transform into a flying craft.

The company added: "In land mode, the vehicle seamlessly folds its flying components for a stunning on-road appearance.

"Upon switching to flight mode, it opens its arms, facilitating vertical takeoff and landing."

It's designed to navigate through congested areas and help you avoid traffic.

Xpeng Aeroht said it's "effectively addressing the demand for short-distance, low-altitude travel."

No pricing has been revealed for the car or a release date.

Xpeng Aeroht has also created a modular car that contains a flying component.

It's called the Air module and features a detachable flying craft.

Tan told us that the car is priced at around $200,000 and should be available later this year.
