Jurgen Klopp will transform into ‘Bob the Builder’ when he leaves Liverpool in the summer.

He will don his working overalls and get stuck into helping finish a couple of ongoing construction projects. The German is having two new houses built, one in Wiesbaden near Frankfurt, and the other in Mallorca, his favourite holiday destination.

It will make a change from his latest Anfield rebuild featuring a complete midfield which has turned the Reds into Premier League title challengers. And it’s why Klopp is insistent that he is taking a complete break from the game for 12 months enabling him to concentrate on family matters including finishing off the two dream properties.

The one on the sunshine island of Mallorca is causing him the greatest grief, with Klopp confessing: “The bloody thing’s not even ready yet and I’m paying the bills.”

Klopp and wife Ulla bought the stunning property in June 2022 for £3.4 million from Swiss businessman and artist Rolf Knie with Ulla placed in charge of overseeing the extensive renovation work on the 5,000 metre property.

The aim is to turn it into an ecological family paradise, one in which electricity consumption is cut by 75 per cent and complete with a state of the art irrigation system with everything controlled by phone.

But with work behind schedule, Klopp has told friends that he intends “to get stuck in” and help complete the massive Mediterranean project the minute his Liverpool commitments come to an end.

The landscaping of the garden has been left in the hands of the same company who designed the bespoke garden of multi millionaire Richard Branson’s hotel ‘Son Bunyola’ also situated in Mallorca.

The second build in Wiesbaden is to enable the Klopps to be close to family especially after recently becoming first time grandparents. Jurgen has admitted he is looking forward to immersing himself in grandparenting duties during his sabbatical.

As Sunday Mirror/ Sunday People Sport revealed the German Football Federation would love Klopp to succeed Julian Nagelsmann whose short term contract ends following this summer’s European Championships.

But Klopp who would love the opportunity of managing his native country one day isn’t prepared to cut short his planned break. Any building now will be of the bricks and mortar kind.
