Dustin Johnson has invited LIV Golf doubters to get themselves to a tournament and see for themselves what it’s all about.
Johnson came out on top in front of a big crowd on the third and final day of LIV Golf’s second tournament of the year in Las Vegas. Fans flocked to the ‘party hole’ eighth and soaked up the atmosphere on the 18th green as Johnson came out on top by one shot after a tight final round.
Speaking after the tournament, Johnson praised the “energy” fans provided on Super Bowl weekend - and he made a plea for more fans to get involved by coming to watch LIV. Johnson said: “It was a great week, great turnout today with the fans. There was a ton of fans out there.

LIV Golf 2023 predictions including marquee signings and PGA Tour deadlock“I felt like the energy was high. It was a lot of fun. Obviously it was a little chilly and really breezy, but the weather was really nice. I think it was a great turnout and a great support. You could feel the energy out there for sure.
“If it you haven't been to an event, then I would invite you to come out and watch because you're going to like it. I think it's just something that the fans really - all the ones that come, they all seem to like it. They all seem to have a good time. The more, the merrier.”
The Saudi-funded LIV Golf competition has divided golf fans and had huge ramifications for the PGA Tour, which recently agreed a big-money deal of its own with Strategic Sports Group (SSG) to get more funding. That news drew a blunt response from Johnson before LIV Golf Las Vegas, who told the "To be honest, I have no idea. I mean, obviously I know the gist of it - it's a group that's investing some money into the tour… but that's about as far as it goes. I haven't read anything on it."
Johnson’s win at The Las Vegas Country Club continued a strong start to the year, which he says comes after finding a “little more drive and determination” because of his frustration with performances in 2023. He’s now feeling confident and keen to keep his momentum going leading up to The Masters at Augusta in April.
He added: “Yeah, the game is feeling in really good form for this early in the year, and so I'm excited for the rest of the year. Obviously still got a lot of work to do. Take a couple days off, probably Sunday, Monday, and then get back to work on Tuesday.
“Obviously got a big stretch coming up with Saudi, Hong Kong, come back, Doral, and then the Masters. I want to be in good form for the foreseeable future at least. Got a lot of big tournaments.”
